Bishop James E. Axel was consecrated and Elevated to the Apostolic Office of Bishop on the 21st Day of October 2023. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio and raised in Hubbard, Ohio.

At the age of eighteen he joined the United States Army and served his country for twenty years. Bishop Axel was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit while stationed at Bayonne, New Jersey at Evangelical Gospel Tabernacle where Bishop Dr. Thomas P. Robinson is the Pastor. Bishop Axel served faithfully and diligently in various capacities of his church. He was licensed in the Gospel ministry in 1978 and was ordained in 1983.

While still in the Army in 1979, Bishop Axel pastored a military outreach service in Baumholder, Germany for the Church of God. From 1980 to 1982, Bishop Axel, Bishop Axel worked and served with Rev. Horace Fields of St. Mark’s Baptist Church in Highland Falls, New York Military Academy.

While stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany from 1982-1985, Bishop Axel founded and pastored the Bremerhaven Community Church, a nondenominational church with people of all races and nationalities. In 1986, upon returning to the United States for his next duty at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Aberdeen, Maryland.
Bishop Axel became the founder and Pastor of Tabernacle .of Faith Church in Harve De Grace, Maryland.

Bishop Axel created various ministries to meet the needs of people for Christian development and life. Pastor Axel trained as a Certified Housing and Foreclosure Counselor, and instituted a Financial Literacy Program, and a monthly food distribution program at Tabernacle of Faith Church.

Bishop Axel’s educational background includes General and Advanced Bible certification from the American Bible Institute Diploma of Bible studies from Charis Bible College; Associate of Arts, General Studies from Central Texas College; and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Lincoln Christian College.

Bishop Axel is happily married to Elder Claudia Axel, and they are the proud parents of three adult children, three grandchildren and one great grand.
